40 NEW JOBS COMING TO RUSSELL COUNTY
JennChem, LLC to Open Manufacturing Facility
Richmond, VA – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that JennChem, LLC, an affiliate of the JENNMAR family of companies will open a new manufacturing facility in Russell County. The facility will produce heavy duty conveyor systems used in multiple industries including mining, construction, aviation and automotive. In addition to the creation of 40 new jobs the project will include $5 million in capital investment. This will be the third facility affiliated with JENNMAR in Virginia. The JENNMAR companies already operate facilities in Tazewell County and Giles County.
The Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission approved a $215,000 Tobacco Region Opportunity Fund grant for this project.
Tobacco Commission member, Senator Ben Chafin said, “Assisting businesses in the mining and manufacturing industries in Southwest Virginia is key to growing the economy in Southwest Virginia. Forty new jobs created by JennChem is great news for Russell County and the entire region. I want to thank JENNMAR for its commitment to the region as a great corporate partner. I am proud of the work the Tobacco Commission has accomplished along with the other partners in this economic development effort.”
Tobacco Commission member, Secretary of Commerce and Trade Todd Haymore added, “This project is a great win for Russell County and Virginia, and a testament to the workforce and assets in the region that encouraged the JENNMAR Corporation family of companies to again choose the Commonwealth. JENNMAR is a unique company that represents both the manufacturing and energy industries, adding great to diversity to the Southwest Virginia economy. We stand ready to support the company’s growth, and look forward to its continued success in the Commonwealth.”
JennChem designs and delivers chemical roof support, rock stabilization and ventilation sealing products to the mining and underground construction industries. JENNMAR is family-owned company specializing in ground control technology for the mining and tunneling industries. They manufacture a broad range of products designed to make mining and tunneling safer and more efficient.
Ernie McFaddin, Chairman of the Russell County Industrial Development Authority said, “The JennChem company has been great to work with since the inception of this project. The combined efforts of Governor McAuliffe, VCEDA, the Tobacco Commission, VEDP, the Russell County Board of Supervisors, the Town of Lebanon, and New Peoples Bank all played a vital role in making this an attractive location for the company. We are excited to have them in our community. This manufacturing facility will be a valuable addition to our county and the state by capitalizing on the strong workforce we have available in Southwest Virginia.”
