The Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission (TRRC) will accept applications for a second round of Last Mile Broadband (LMB) funding in Spring 2019. Up to $5 million will be made available for projects that provide greater than 10 Mbps/1 Mbps service to tobacco region communities. Applications will be accepted from local governments, and may include partnership with private service providers. A pre-application is required to be submitted by December 21, 2018 to describe a potential project.
The pre-application, while non-binding, will be used to assess demand for funds and as a tool for discussion of your project. Please provide a brief response – suitable for public distribution – to each of the following issues so that staff may provide feedback and discuss a possible full application for LMB funding.
All requests must be consistent with the Commission’s mission of revitalizing the economy of Virginia’s tobacco-dependent region. If you have questions, please visit www.revitalizeva.org, review the Commission’s Strategic Plan, and contact the Grants Director or Grant Administrator for your region. Completed documents should be submitted to Commission Staff through our online application portal, or by mail or e-mail.
